A Haida Gwaii resident could be facing up to 14 years in prison for failing to properly store explosives.
Thomas Daniel Kendall has been arrested for causing bodily harm by breaching a legal duty to properly store explosives following an incident this summer.
On August 7th, a worker using a blowtorch accidentally lit a fire on the roof of Kendall’s home on the 600 block of Seventh Street in Queen Charlotte.
Roughly 15 minutes after firefighters responded to the scene, a number of explosives were tiggered by the flames, causing an explosion which lifted them from their feet.
Kendall is set to appear in court over the charges on January 8th.
