It always amazes me how people get on board for the most incredible things. We certainly are a community filled with givers. I’ve seen it time and again and makes me so happy that I live in such an incredible place. My friend Tom Burbee is no exception. Tom will admit he’s not exactly regimented when it comes to haircuts, maybe getting 1 or 2 a year. This time instead of spending the $25 to get his hair cut, Tom has decided to raise money for cancer! He’s up past $2,000 (CONGRATULATIONS TOM!!!!) with one more week to go.
Tom is a very respected business man in the community and his business, TCSI, does a lot for the community, this is certainly no different. For the past 6 weeks, he’s been growing both his hair and his beard to insane lengths! Next Saturday, May 28, Tom will be shaving BOTH the hair and beard for this incredible cause at 7pm. I still find it wierd when I look at Tom today, he’s a hairy guy. I’m not used to it. In fact, I creeped his FB page (sorry, Tom) and stole a couple pictures to show you just how big a difference a beard and no haircut can make on this guy:
Tom has even been invited to do the luminary speech to close out this year’s Relay for Life. Way to go Tom, you’re an inspiration!!! I’m incredibly proud to call you my friend <3 I’m very proud of you and your fundraising effort!
If you’d like to support Tom, there’s a few ways to do it:
-Head to the Relay for Life next weekend at the Skeena Junior Secondary School, Tom will have a donation jar set up, or,
-support him online here: http://convio.cancer.ca/site/TR/RelayForLife/RFL_BC_even_?pg=team&fr_id=21190&team_id=350487
