Haisla Nation and Kitimat invite Prime Minister Trudeau to visit

The Haisla Nation and the District of Kitimat have extended an invitation to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to visit their communities.

The invitation, which is signed by Haisla Chief Councillor Ellis Ross and Kitimat Mayor Phil Germuth, says they want the Prime Minister to see how they’re working with the LNG industry.

It goes on to state that both their communities strongly support the LNG industry, are comfortable with the industry’s safety record, and look forward to the economic benefits the LNG industry will bring.

The letter concludes by stating that it hopes once the Prime Minister sees the Canada-wide economic and environmental benefits of the LNG industry, the federal government will become a greater supporter of the industry and promote Canadian LNG exports.

This is the letter from the Haisla Nation and the District of Kitimat to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
