Hazelton parents frustrated over French Immersion program recommendations by Coast Mountains School District

Hazelton parents are furious the French Immersion program at their high school is on the chopping block.

Coast Mountains School District staff are recommending Terrace keep their program as is, while Kitimat and Hazelton will have their program in high school cut.

Jocelyn Chandler is with Hazelton Canadian Parents for French chapter. She says they’ve been trying help the school district solve the problem.

Chandler adds the French Immersion program one of the programs doing very well for their area.

Chandler says they are contacting the Ministry of Education about their concerns and are eager to see the board’s final decision at their meeting tonight.
