RCMP blocked off several streets in West Quesnel Thursday morning as officers searched a Willis Street home.
Mounties told residents to stay in their homes and nearby schools were advised to keep students inside until the search was complete.
There was a heavy police presence around the area with the North District RCMP Emergency Response Team and additional officers from Prince George and Williams Lake.
The search began at about 8:45 and the streets were opened up nearly two hours later.
RCMP detained several people from the home, but have not provided any more details about why such a major police presence was required.
Quesnel RCMP say the investigation is continuing.
