High Streamflow Advisories maintained for Nautley and Nechako

The BC River Forecast Centre has continued High Streamflow Advisories for two rivers in the Central Interior.

The Nautley River near Fort Fraser has a water level of 2.69 metres and the Nechako River near Vanderhoof a level of 4.59 metres.

With warm weather conditions in the forecast this week, officials expect flows on both rivers to continue increasing.

The forecast centre is reminding residents to stay clear of streams during spring runoff because of unstable riverbank conditions and fast-flowing water.

The advisories have been in place for about a week.

A High Streamflow Advisory means that river levels are rising or expected to rise rapidly, but that no major flooding is expected.
