The BC River Forecast Centre has issued a high streamflow advisory for parts of the Northwest and South Peace regions.
Forecasters say heavy rain expected across the Bulkley Valley into Friday will cause the Skeena River and tributaries like the Bulkley to rise. Areas of the Pine Pass, Mackenzie, and Chetwynd may also see high river levels.
Officials say there is the possibility of some flooding depending on the amount of rainfall, but rivers are expected to peak Friday or Saturday.
The River Forecast Centre says the advisory may be upgraded to a flood watch as rainfall amounts become clear.
