The Ministry of Transportation has shut down a section of Highway 16 due to high avalanche hazard.
Officials say the road is closed in both directions 13 km east of the Port Edward turnoff to 35 km west of Terrace.
There is no detour available and no estimated time of reopening.
The ministry says an assessment is in progress and the next update is scheduled for noon.
It’s the third avalanche closure of this section of Highway 16 in the last couple of weeks.
