RCMP say a collision between a car and a loaded logging truck west of Prince George has left two people dead and a third injured.
Investigators say a west-bound Chevy Cavalier crossed the centre line of Highway 16 and struck the logging truck’s driver-side fuel tank shortly before 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Investigators say two occupants of the car were pronounced dead at the scene while the driver of the logging truck was treated and released for what police describe as non life-threatening injuries.
RCMP say initial reports from witnesses indicate that the car may have lost control prior to the collision.
Investigators are still trying to determine contributing factors.
Highway 16 was closed to traffic for about 12 hours.
