The repaving of Highway 16 through Prince Rupert is expected to start in April.
The province say the $3.94-million project will see the road repaved from the McClymont bridge to the BC Ferries Terminal.
Repaving will also take place on Ridley Island Road and Port Edward Arterial.
The City of Prince Rupert is also upgrading 3rd Avenue West at a cost of $500,000.
Doing the project the same time as the province will help the city limit costs on asphalt.
The project will be done by Peter’s Brothers Construction Limited.
Construction will begin at the end of April and it’s expected to be wrapped up in July.
