The BC Transportation Ministry says it has repaired a major washout along Highway 20 west of Williams Lake.
A major section of the primary route to Bella Bella was washed away by a torrent of mud nearly two weeks ago.
District Manager for Transportation in the Cariboo Todd Hubner says it’s a relief to get the highway back up and running.
The ministry had hoped to get the highway open to traffic by last weekend, but significant groundwater at the site 25 kilometres west of Williams Lake plagued repairs.
