Terrace RCMP are hoping witnesses can help investigators with a hit and run that left an elderly man with injuries Monday morning.
Mounties say the 73-year-old man was struck by a vehicle as he was crossing Keith Avenue near the Sande Overpass at about 8:45.
Constable Angela Rabut says the man was assisted by two women before ambulance crews took him to hospital for treatment.
RCMP would like to speak with the women or any other witnesses to the incident.
Investigators say the preliminary description of the vehicle that hit the man is that of a green car.
Rabut says police strongly suspect that the driver knew that the vehicle struck the man.
Anyone with information should contact Terrace RCMP or Crimestoppers.
