Wednesday’s sunny weather smashed a 90-year-old record in the Northwest.
The city of Terrace got to 20.7 degrees, breaking the old record 18.9 degrees set back in 1926.
Record maximum temperatures were also recorded in 25 other communities, including Bella Bella, Bella Coola, Smithers, Burns Lake, Stewart, Dease Lake. and Kitimat, which got to 23.4 degrees.
Environment Canada says a strong ridge of high pressure combined with sunshine was behind the broken temperature records.
The warm weather is expected to continue Thursday and into Friday.
