The BC Conservation Officer Service is noting an increase in illegal dumping in the Terrace area.
Sergeant Tracy Walbauer says the increase in the Terrace, Kitimat, and Thornhill area has brought in daily complaints since the new transfer station opened.
There’s been a variety of items dumped including mattresses, deep freezers, and various household items.
Sergeant Walbauer says many of the illegal dumping sites are located in environmentally sensitive areas.
He says that some of the dumping areas show that many residents are spending a lot of time to scope areas hoping they won’t get caught.
Sergeant Walbauer is urging anyone with information to contact the BC Conservation Officer Service.
