Improved visibility and safety is on the way for Prince Rupert intersections this fall.
Upgrades are on the way for the provincially controlled McBride Street and second Avenue thanks to the Ministry of Highways.
89 street lights along the streets will be replaced with LED lights over the course of the next two months, with countdown timers and audible signals being installed at all crosswalks, and the replacement of signal poll mounted street signs.
In addition, the crosswalk at Second Avenue and Third Street will be reconfigured to eliminate the downhill crosswalk, and improve signage on the remaining crosswalk.
