DP World Prince Rupert evacuated its container yard at the Fairview terminal Thursday morning after an incident affecting two workers.
Officials say two employees suffered undisclosed symptoms of respiratory irritation shortly before 10 a.m. and were transported to hospital for treatment.
As a precaution DP World suspended operations and evacuated all workers from the container yard of the facility.
The company says the affected employees were discharged from hospital within hours of their arrival.
DP World says its emergency response team is working with emergency services to figure out what caused the incident.
This incident is similar to one at the container terminal which occurred earlier this year.
Eleven workers were treated in hospital for eye and respiratory irritation after an incident over the Labour Day weekend.
