The BC Coroners Service has scheduled an inquest into the death of a man who fell out of an ambulance
Officials say 36-year-old Ebony Aaron Wood was involved in a motor vehicle crash on November 5, 2016 and was later taken into custody by Quesnel RCMP.
Wood was transferred to an ambulance after he began to suffer chest and shoulder pain. While en route to the hospital, Wood fell from the ambulance on to the road and suffered a head injury.
He died two days later. Because Wood was in the custody of a peace officer at the time of his death, an inquest is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will take place, beginning Nov. 14, 2017, at 9:30 a.m., at Quesnel Court Services (350 Barlow Ave.).
