The BC Coroners Service has announced dates for an inquest examining the deaths of a Prince Rupert woman and her son.
RCMP found 39 year-old Angie Elsie Robinson and her 16 year-old autistic son Robert dead in their home April 3, 2014.
Police investigators confirmed that the case was a murder-suicide with the mother taking the life of her son.
Disability advocates have called the deaths a tragic wake-up call about the struggle families face in getting the help they need to support loved ones with autism.
The inquest is scheduled to begin September 28th at BC Supreme Court in Prince Rupert.
Presiding coroner Michael Egilson and a jury will hear evidence to determine the facts surrounding the deaths.
The jury will have the opportunity to make recommendations aimed at preventing deaths under similar circumstances.
