The Federal Government has given the national inquiry in to murdered and missing Indigenous women additional time to complete its mandate.
Though they had originally asked for a 2 year extension and an additional 50 million dollars in funding, the government has opted to give them until the end of April next year and until the end of June to complete operations report.
With regards to the funding, the government determined that they would need to have more discussions on whether or not to expand on the initial 53.8 million dollar budget.
So far the inquiry has held 15 public hearings and heard from nearly 13 hundred of the 19 hundred registered to testify.
