A federal cabinet minister from B.C.is quitting politics after a 15-year career.
Industry Minister James Moore says he’s decided not to run in the October federal election.
Thirty-nine-year-old Moore is the latest Conservative MP bowing out of the campaign and leaving the Conservative cabinet without one of its political heavyweights from a province expected to be a key battleground in the fall vote.
Nathan Cullen, MP for Skeena-Bulkley Valley says the loss of Moore will be a significant blow to the Harper government.
Cullen says despite their political differences, they have a good personal relationship.
Moore says he’s won’t be seeking re-election because of the health challenges faced by his son Spencer.
He says his boy’s special needs require extensive care.
