The Canadian Press has declared the Nechako Lakes riding for Liberal candidate John Rustad.
Rustad was the incumbent candidate and this will be his fourth term as MLA.
Rustad says he’ll continue to fight for the residents in his riding.
He say his first order of business is to ensure the election signs are collected and no mess is left behind from his campaign.
Rustad served as the Minister of Aboriginal Relations and Reconciliation in the last term.
As of 10:30 p.m., Rustad had received just over 54 per cent of the popular vote.
Rustad won with 54.51 per cent of the popular vote with 5, 108.
NDP’s Anne Marie Sam got 29. 71 per cent of the popular vote with 2, 784.
Green Party’s Douglas Norman Gook got nine per cent of the popular vote with 843.
Libertarian’s Jon Rempel recieved 4.45 per cent of the popular vote with 417.
Independent’s Al Trampuh got 2.33 per cent of the popular vote with 218.
