JRCC continues search for man overboard near Kitkatla

Search continues into a second day for a man overboard near Kitkatla.

The Victoria Joint Rescue Co-Ordination Centre says they received a call yesterday at about 5pm of an overdue 14m long boat with two people on board near Kitkatla, just south of Prince Rupert.

The two missing men have been identified through social media as David and Erwin Innes.

The JRCC sent out two ships and two aircraft to search the area.

Due to deteriorating weather conditions, only one ship continued the search overnight.

The JRCC reports that as of 10:45am this morning, one person has been successfully rescued.

That person has been identified as David Innes through social media, which also says he’s in good condition.

The search continues for Erwin Innes, with three ships and two aircraft taking part in search efforts.
