July was a record shattering month in BC for more than just temperatures.
According to BC Hydro, July marked 14 days with more than 7 thousand megawatts of peak hourly power usage, a new record for a single month since BC Hydro has been keeping records.
On top of that, yesterday marked a new record for single-day consumption in the month of July when it topped 78 hundred hourly megawatts.
The numbers go hand-in-hand with a previous BC Hydro report that air conditioner usage in the province has jumped to 34 percent, tripling numbers from the beginning of last decade.
