The 2014 Junior All Native Basketball Tournament (JANT) will take place March 17-21, 2014 in Kamloops, BC – “Canada’s Tournament Capital”. Our mission is to “Empower British Columbia Aboriginal communities though sports”.
The tournament has a strong 30 year history and is expected to attract up to 45 youth girls and boys teams (17 yrs. and under), representing approximately 29 Aboriginal communities across British Columbia and attracting high-quality performances aimed to youth wellness.
Apart from the teams, coaches and managers, this tournament attracts aunts, uncles, moms, dads, grandparents, brothers, sisters, extended family and spectators of all ages who love the sport of basketball.
We believe Investing in our youth will strengthen our community! In addition to promoting fair play, team building and leadership through basketball, our goal is to provide youth with resources directed at life skills, goal setting, education and career paths – skills that these kids will carry with them for a lifetime.
