The Kalum Rock Quarry has released an advisory informing area residents about how it mitigates blasting noises.
The release says the quarry takes every measures to reduce blast noises and ground vibrations.
But occasionally there are shallow blasts that are louder and more intrusive than others.
The quarry also says residents can be alerted about upcoming blasts through email alerts or social media.
The advisory was released just days after a complaint was posted on a local Terrace Facebook page.
Area resident, Maria Luppens left a message, that turned into a lively conversation with other locals jumping in with their experiences, saying the blasts shake the foundation of her home, suggesting the quarry put up sound barriers and use a drill muffler.
