Kidnapping and sexual assault investigation continues in Prince George

RCMP are investigating a kidnapping and sexual assault in Prince George over the weekend.

Late on September 3rd, Prince George RCMP received a report of a kidnapping and sexual assault near the Heritage area.

Through the investigation, police have learned that an adult female was fixing a flat tire at a gas station and a man left a nearby parked vehicle and offered to help. They were unable to fix the tire so the man offered her a ride.

While driving her home, the man missed several turns and turned into a parking lot, believed to be on Foothills Boulevard, where he sexually assaulted her. The victim was able to fend off her attacker and fled on foot.

The suspect is described as a South Asian male in his mid to late 20’s with a slight accent, brown hair, brown eyes, calls himself “Jax” and his vehicle is described as an older potential BMW.

This may not be the first time this man has attacked a woman either, a similar incident occurred during the night of May 14th where a female runner was attacked just a few blocks from the other incident.

The suspect also fits the description of a man who committed three indecent acts in early March of this year.

If you have any information about any of these events please contact the Prince George RCMP or Crime Stoppers.

The Prince George RCMP would like to warn the public and offer some safety tips:

Stay in well-lit areas and near businesses that can offer safety in the event of an incident, travel in areas where people are likely to be or go to businesses that are open and can offer assistance, Whenever possible, NEVER travel alone,  Call a trusted friend or family member if you find yourself alone, or if  your safety is at risk or you feel threatened, call 9-1-1 immediately.
