Kitimat Mayor Phil Germuth says he’s thrilled with the news that LNG Canada will be moving forward.
Germuth says the announcement makes it seem like the community is reliving its late-fifties history when the Aluminum Company of Canada built its smelter, making what was the largest private sector investment in Canada’s history.
LNG Canada’s export facility and pipeline will now take top spot as the single largest private sector project in the country’s history.
Germuth says as the project ramps up, his community welcomes the many workers, families, and other project stakeholders.
