Kitimat residents are being advised to continue boiling their water before they drink it or cook with it.
The district and Northern Health issued the boil water advisory after heavy rain over the Thanksgiving long weekend left the community’s water cloudy.
Officials say there is nothing to indicate contamination has occurred and the municipality is continuing to treat the water.
The boil water advisory will stay in place until two samples conclude there is not a health risk.
The District of Kitimat says sampling isn’t expected to be complete until the end of the week or longer depending on the rain.
Until then, residents should boil their water for two minutes.
