The District of Kitimat has released a letter to Canadians to start a conversation about getting more value from the country’s resources.
Mayor Phil Germuth says resources should be refined or processed more in Canada before it’s exported to other markets.
Mayor Germuth says the goal of the letter is to start conversations with all levels of government and citizens.
He believes residents could get the politician’s attention to ensure the country is getting its fair share.
Mayor Germuth says residents have responded mainly positive to the letter so far, agreeing more should be done.
