The Kitselas First Nations has blessed a totem pole that will be traveling down to the US.
The pole will be heading to Minnesota to be raised at the Margaret A. Cargill Philanthropies to honour one of their founders, Margaret Cargill.
Stan Bevan is one of the carvers and says the blessings help honour the past.
The CEO of the foundation, Christine Morse, says it’s great to work with many First Nations groups around the world and show the significance of carvers.
It will be shipped in a few weeks and the foundation says they’re expected to have their pole raising in November with the carvers taking part.
