Kitsumkalum Band Council is helping out evacuees from fires burning near Telegraph Creek
The Band has opened up Kitsumkalum Hall to people escaping the Alkali Lake and other wildfires.
A potluck dinner and planning meeting has been scheduled for 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the hall.
The Kitselas First Nation is also accepting volunteer efforts to help those displaced and coming to Terrace.
Evacuees arriving in Terrace who are in need of emergency assistance can go to the Emergency Social Services Reception Centre at 4545 Lazelle Avenue. You may also call the Regional District of Kitimat-Stikine for more information at 250-615-6100.
Those wishing to provide donations to Telegraph Creek wildfire evacuees can send an email transfer to the Tahltan Central Government.
