A letter of understanding has been signed between First Nations and the Province regarding salmon farming in the Broughton Archipelago.
The letter will ensure the two parties partake in meaningful and respectful government-to-government discussions.
Discussions will revolve around environmental effects, Aboriginal rights, and conservation of salmon.
The process looks to identify the actions that need to be taken in both the short and long term to work out an agreement.
Both sides have 90 days to develop concensus recommendations, beginning immediately.
