With Canada Post employees now entering their fifth week of strikes and the holiday season fast approaching, the Federal Government is getting involved.
This morning, Labour Minister Patty Hajdu tabled a bill that would force postal workers back to work.
Along with the bill, the Liberal government also tabled a motion which would see the proposed legislation passed in an accelerated time frame.
Hajdu says that, with Black Friday upon us and Christmas on the way, Canadians need to be able to rely on smooth mail delivery services.
Hajdu also claims that the government would approach this legislation much differently than a 2011 version that has since been deemed unconstitutional by many.
