RCMP say alcohol seized during a roadside stop is believed to be part of a bootlegging operation in the Nass Valley.
Police from the Lisims/Nass Valley RCMP pulled over a vehicle on the Nisga’a Higway just before 4:30 April 25th.
Mounties say the officer spoke to the driver and then immediately began a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation.
All of people were detained while the officer searched the vehicle.
Police came up with a small amount of marijuana, some open liquor, and a larger amount of booze that investigators was destined for bootlegging in the Nass.
RCMP says tackling illegal alcohol sales and drug dealing remains a major priority in the Nass Valley.
Anyone with information about illegal drugs or alcohol sales should contact RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
