Pending litigation between the Blueberry River First Nations and the provincial government have once again been postponed.
An original agreement between the two parties had adjourned the proceedings until October 15th.
Now, thanks to beneficial good-faith discussions strengthening the relationship between the two, the adjournment will be extended until April of next year.
The next step in the on-going process is to collaborate with local governments, stakeholders, industry, and other First Nations on fair ammendments to the Fort St John Land and Resource Management Plan.
The Province has also made commitments to restore inactive roads, and oil and gas sites, update wildife protection measures, and develop a more collaborative system for resource development approvals.
