A wildfire burning southwest of Prince George shows no signs of letting up.
Hot, dry weather and some light wind have combined to help the Little Bobtail Lake fire grow to 2,700 hectares.
Fire Information Officer Jillian Kelsh says crews continue to build a guard around the south side of the fire’s perimeter, but admits the blaze will continue to grow until Mother Nature gives firefighters a break.
Smoke from the raging fire is visible from Highway 16, Prince George, and communities south of the area including Quesnel, and Williams Lake.
Kelsh says over 100 additional staff, including sustained action crews, a Specialized Incident Management Team are en route to the fire.
