Little Wins

I’ve been at CFNR a couple months now, time to get a little more personal.  Hahaha, what a way to start a blog.

Honestly though, those listeners who know me personally know I have very large goals, aside from hiking the Pacific Crest Trail in 2019, an even bigger goal for myself is working towards a 100-pound weight loss.  This has been a work in progress since August 2014, and since then I’ve lost 73.6lbs.  Getting so close to reaching my huge goal.

As I went through the process, one thing I did was buy myself new clothing at regular intervals.  A friend of mine is getting married tomorrow and I wanted to treat myself to a new dress….so a’shopping I went.  I found a dress I really liked, however the largest size they had was a Size 8.  I had already prepared myself for the let down as I haven’t been a size 8 in roughly 10 years, but thought ‘what the heck, why not try it on’.  Much to my shock….it fit!  It actually, honest to goodness fit me!!!!  Standing in line, I was still half disappointed because it carried a $130 price tag and I really can’t afford such an extravagance, when I got to the till, the dress was 60% cheaper than I expected….SCORE!!!!  I’m super excited that it not only fit, but fit into my budget as well.

Another win I realized recently is my new-found ability to cross my legs.  I really noticed it yesterday when my husband and I had a firepit in our backyard.  Inadvertently, without even thinking about it, I sat down in my lawn chair and crossed my legs…what?!?! Like…comfortably too!  I sat there for about 5 minutes, but then I had a s’more!

Oh and I can touch my toes now!  Like I said…little wins!

Always remember, no goal is too large with hard work, perseverance, and celebrating those little wins whenever you can.  And allow yourself those little treats once in a while, it makes the success a little more worthwhile 😉

Until next week
