Approval of a $40 billion liquefied natural gas project in Kitimat could be just around the corner.
Rumours continue to swirl about a positive final investment decision by LNG Canada after a weekend report from Bloomberg News that Royal Dutch Shell and its four partners have signed off on the investment.
LNG Canada issued a statement Sunday saying it has not yet received approval from its joint venture participants on their final investment decision.
The massive project would see construction of a new pipeline linking gas fields in B.C.’s northeast to a new liquefied natural gas facility in Kitimat, the largest industrial development in the province’s history.
