LNG decision not “window dressing” says Minister

BC’s Minister of Natural Gas Development says the announcement of a conditional decision to move forward with an LNG terminal project near Prince Rupert is more than “window dressing”.

Rich Coleman says Pacific NorthWest LNG’s announcement of a positive Final Investment Decision Thursday is significant.

As for the rejection of a billion-dollar benefit agreement by the Lax Kw’alaams over concerns about the terminal’s impact on salmon habitat, Coleman says he is very respectful of the band’s initial position, but he thinks there is a way forward.

Coleman says Pacific NorthWest LNG already has long-term contracts for its LNG, meaning that unless there’s a major problem with the environmental assessment, the project is likely to proceed.

  1. Government thought they would have us focused on the OIL PIPELINE, they are thinking that WE are too ignorant or passive to reject, dismiss, boycott and REJECT the LNG Project….it is not about oil or gas, it is about our coast line and the PROSPECTIVE LOSSES…not just with the projects, but with the transport and the losses attributed to our lands, with development.

Their are alternative Energy Sources…and those of our people, creating companies to join the bandwagon for a quick dollar…..well, you are right up there, with those that joined the English Agents to hunt down your people, to murder them and steal their children and put them in Church Run Institutions. You, are our Judas.
