Employment Commitment
LNG Canada’s commitment to keeping employment local on their Kitimat project has North Coast MLA Jennifer Rice excited for the future.
Rice says the company’s commitment to keeping 95 percent of jobs Canadian is a stark contrast to previous projects.
While some jobs will undoubtedly need to be outsourced, Rice says that years of preparation have the community more than ready to fill most roles.
Keeping Families in the Northwest
Family was a key theme on the minds of many in the northwest during LNG Canada’s Kitimat announcement, including Northcoast MLA Jennifer Rice.
With a reported 10 thousand jobs coming to the area, Rice says the project will give families an opportunity to stay together.
LNG Canada has made their goals of keeping the project local known, meaning many residents will no longer need to leave the market to find meaningful work.
