Local group looking to revitalize a Prince Rupert park

A local group in Prince Rupert is looking to move forward to developing a park in Prince Rupert.

Transition Prince Rupert says they’re looking to develop the park on an old baseball field in the McKay and Kootenay area.

Veronika Stewart is the vice president of the group. She says the plan is very ambitious.

She says they’re hoping to get shovels in the ground within a year and complete the project in phases.

Stewart say they’re still pinpointing a final cost, but it looks like it will range to two and a half to three million dollars.

Transition Prince Rupert has been looking to do this project since 2014.

More information about the project can be found here.
