RCMP say an Oregon family found in the bush near Dease Lake this week wasn’t prepared for their adventure.
Search crews found Jeffrey Phan, Michelle Lesaca, and their two children Kinaskan Lake Wednesday.
The search for the family began after their vehicle was found abandoned off Highway 37 Monday with a note saying they’d gone for gas.
Police say they planned to travel to Alaska while camping on the way, but were not adequately prepared.
While they came with some supplies, investigators say it appears they may have underestimated the vastness of northern B.C., including the distance between services
RCMP family is being supported by many partner agencies to help them get to their destination.
There is no criminal investigation and the family is doing well.
