The man allegedly behind a shooting spree of vehicles along B.C. highways is now facing an attempted murder charge.
RCMP say 38-year-old Peter Anthony Kampos is facing the charge in connection of the shooting in Chilliwack last Saturday. He also faces one count of unlawful possession of a firearm.
Mounties believe he’s also behind the shootings of vehicles along Highway 16 and 97. They are asking anyone between Kitimat and 100 Mile House who may have seen or noticed anything suspicious to come forward.
The shootings happened over a 14 hour period last Friday afternoon around 1:00 with reports of 22 commercial vehicles shot at and one passenger vehicle.
It’s believe the vehicle Kampos used was a 2009 4 door blue Dodge Caliber. It has Ontario license plates CAV918.
Police continue to investigate both the shooting in Chilliwack and vehicle shootings. They’re asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.
