A man attacked by a grizzly bear outside Bella Coola last week says he was just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Park Rangero Jordan Carbery was attacked by the bear outside his home last Tuesday, but he says he’s feeling fantastic, considering.
According to Carbery, who drove himself to hospital following the attack, the bear could have easily done a lot more damage, but decided not to.
Carbery says the attack was not predatory, that the bear was just protecting its cubs, and that he’s glad the bears will not be terminated.
Carbery is now recovering from his injuries in Vancouver General Hospital, clinging to the belief that the attack was his own fault.
