Williams Lake RCMP says a man is facing threats and firearm charges after a bizarre incident at a local business last Friday.
Investigators allege the man walked into a shop, identified himself as a United States Federal Officer, and said he was looking for two specific men that he claimed were wanted for extortion and murder.
When the business owner didn’t take him seriously, the suspect pulled what appeared to be a handgun from a holster and pointed it at the shop owner.
The suspect eventually left and there were no injuries.
RCMP arrested the suspect about four hours later.
Mounties believe it’s an isolated incident and there is no risk to the public.
