Masset RCMP believe there is marijuana for sale in the area laced with fentanyl.
Police are cautioning residents as fentanyl is linked to over 500 deaths in British Columbia this year alone.
Fentanyl is also being sold around the province in pill form, known as ‘Fake Oxy’ or ‘Oxy 80’.
Mounties say even exposure to small amounts of the pain killer is extremely dangerous and more powerful than heroin.
Symptoms of an overdose include shallow breathing, slowed heart rate, difficulty standing, nausea, or drowsiness.
Police say you should call first responders right away if you believe someone is overdosing.
They say to call them or Crime Stoppers if have have any information about the possible circulation of illegal fentanyl.
