The youngest mayor ever to be elected in British Columbia has resigned.
Luke Trimbold handed in his resignation yesterday.
Chief Administrative Officer Sheryl Worthing says Council will be discussing this September 21st.
One of the Councillors will also be appointed as the acting mayor during the meeting.
Worthing says Burns Lake is familiar with by-elections. Although, one for the mayor is new.
Trimbold says he will be furthering his education and pursuing other opportunities.
The by-election is expected to take place in December.
