The province has announced funding for members of Fort Nelson First Nations to receive training for jobs.
The $338,000 will go towards training 32 member to prepare for college or professional cook training.
Members of the Prophet River and Halfway River First Nations can also participate.
The goals is to ensure the residents get the proper training and prerequisites for the careers they’re entering.
Fort Nelson First Nations Chief Liz Logan says the funding will help break the barriers that prevent members to get the proper qualification for jobs and to allow them to stay in the area.
Both agreements are now in place.
