You may notice something new while driving across Highway 16 as a new monument was put up Sunday to remember a woman who passed away on the highway of tears
Alberta Williams was found in 1989 in a forest along B.C’S Highway 16, her death remained unsolved.
Alberta’s brother Francis Williams raised an aluminum cross on Sunday in honor of the memory of his murdered sister.
Williams hopes this will bring more awareness to not only his sister but all the victims who passed away on Highway 16.
Alberta’s death was the subject of an eight-part podcast produced by CBC in 2016 and Francis wants the cross to direct more people to the series.
