Chief Ava Hill of the Six Nations of the Grand River has endorsed former Haida Nation Council President Miles Richardson for National Chief of the Assembly of First Nations.
With next Wednesday’s election fast approaching, Hill says Richardson is a true leader that can bring Indigenous peoples from all walks of life together.
Richardson’s platform is centered around 3 core actions: the recognition and affirmation of Aboriginal treaty rights, closing socio-economic gaps between Indigenous and non-Indigenous peoples, and building economies for self-sufficient nations.
The election will take place in Vancouver at the AFN’s Annual General Assembly on July 25th.
